Thane's Pursuit
A medieval/fantasy platform adventure game, requiring wits and determination.
You are Ethren, Thane of King Athelon. You are in pursuit of the wicked Goblin King who is holding Lord Muckford prisoner in his fortress. Setting out from Castle Muckford, you must explore the woods and find a way into the goblin fortress. Perhaps there is a secret tunnel, and perhaps the Goblin King is more than he seems?
Play time: approx. 25 mins
Instructions and tips are provided in-game but basically:
> Comes in two color ways: 4 color and 16 color
> Move using WASD, IJKL or cursor keys
> [Space] to attack (fire)
> Kill or avoid monsters (magenta in EGA version)
> Talk to NPCs (white in both versions)

> Max Armor (can be increased)

GithubGameoff criteria:
> Theme: ("secrets"): Several secret paths,
discovery of the first being essential to
completing the first level. Also, perhaps
the Goblin King is not all he seems?
> 4 color: choose EGA (4 color) option
> Cheat codes: completing each level gives a code
that allows you to start again at this same point
with all aquired power-ups. You can share codes
with your friends.
FREE CODE: use HHCAAQSS to start a Level 2
all powered up! See option 3 of main menu.
> Speed run: contains a screen that must be
completed in one minute.
Code base:
> Written entirely in Javascript, no engine
> Opensource (GPL3): Thanes_Pursuit
> Some code reuse from my previous game
Dr Horrible's Castle (also GPL3),
but this code base is over double the size.
